Brown's tax policy has been formed "on the playing fields of Eton" since 1997


The unmissable Prodicus's blog has made a brilliant point that Gordon Brown seems to have forgotten.

The current Permanent Secretary at the Treasury is Sir Nicholas Macpherson who is an old Etonian. In fact, he has been in this post since Brown appointed him when he became Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1997.

You'd think that Brown would keep his head down instead of making a complete twat of himself about "Tory toffs". But he won't....
