Can we trust the Irish to do the right thing?

A worrying report in the Irish Times today which reports a poll showing 51% in favour of the Treaty of Lisbon (aka "The European Constitution").

More work to do, my friends.

It is, of course, absolutely deplorable that there should be any thought at all of a second ballot...but then that's what we've come to expect from the Eurocrats. If they don't like the result, vote and vote again until they get the result they want.

God, how I hope that Irish tell them to bugger off.

Pretty much what Cato said.

There will be a lot of grey eminences working away next time to make sure the Irish get it "right".

It won't necessarily be fixed, but you can be sure the propaganda is being fed to the press already.
